Tutorial for ROMA

Welcome to ROMA tutorial page.

1. Install ROMA Unit

ROMA has 2 methods which you can choose for installation of ROMA unit.

  • ROMA can be downloaded from the github page.
  • You can use "gems" command.

2. Starting up & Shutting down ROMA

3. Use Physical Storage

ROMA is possible to switch the storage engine. ROMA user can choose or customize
the appropriate storage engine for their purpose.

3-1. Use Tokyo cabinet for ROMA

We provide the knowledge for using Tokyo cabinet.

3-2. Use Groonga for ROMA

ROMA can use groonga as a storage after version 1.1.0.
Groonga is an open-source fulltext search engine and column store.
It lets you write high-performance applications that requires fulltext search.

4. Operation of ROMA

5. FD setting

When ROMA start up in their servers, it is required to pay attention to the FD(file descriptor) size which the roma processes can keep.
